1: Stick to the wedding theme – color & pattern
The bride and groom have often chosen a theme for their wedding, and whether it's a color theme, a special pattern, or a specific flower that stands out, our first tip is: stick to it. This creates a common thread throughout the wedding, all the way from the ceremony to the subsequent meal and party.
Although it is important to meet the couple's wishes, we would still like to take this opportunity to advise not to use more than three colors. This is also the guideline used in both the fashion industry and interior design, but also table setting.
If you start with three shades, you will create harmony for the dinner table and the party venue. Choose whether to use dark or light tones, perhaps it depends on what season the wedding takes place?
But don't be afraid to add a colorful detail, especially if it's a color theme at the wedding, for example, or a special flower in the bridal bouquet.
2: Create dynamics with wedding decorations on the table
More is more. Yes, we know that the correct expression might be less is more, but that doesn't quite hold true when it comes to wedding table setting. The worst that can happen is that the wedding dinner table looks bare and empty.
So how do you go about creating a full table setting without it looking messy and cluttered?
First of all, check out tip 1 on this list and don't use too many different colors and patterns, but then add some dynamics to create depth and a more vibrant table setting. That is, work with different levels, shapes and sizes of decorations. Low and high candlesticks, smaller and larger vases and flower bouquets, and decorate the table with porcelain in different sizes, as well as napkins and glasses to fill out.
Even details placed directly on the table are an elegant touch, such as flowers, leaves, glitter, shimmering string lights and labels.
3: That little extra for the wedding table setting
A wedding dinner is not an ordinary event, and therefore you want to create something more than the table setting you have every day. Go the extra mile to create a sense of luxury for the bride and groom and wedding guests. This can include everything from programs for the evening written on fine paper and placed on the tables, beautiful menus so guests know what amazing food they will be partaking of, and neat place cards so everyone knows where to sit.
Small gifts such as chocolates or a tablet case can also be a fun detail to place at guests' places, and a beautiful napkin fold definitely adds elegance to your table setting.
Don't forget the kids when you're setting up a party. A tablet case at their place or a coloring book and some pencils can do the trick.
Good luck now!
