A big, good-looking and sturdy box of matches with a design on the front and the back. The text on the box is I varje hjärta armt och mörkt — Swedish for "into every heart, poor and dark", a line from Viktor Rydberg's Christmas poem "Betlehems stjärna" that just about everyone in Sweden knows. These matches are long, so you'll have time to light lots and lots of candles before one burns out, and they're brilliant for lighting the fire with. For children lighting candles (together with a grown-up, of course) the match feels big and steady, and the risk of burning little fingers is a bit lower than with ordinary matches.
So pretty left out on the table, or kept ready for a moment of devotion.
Size: 6.5 cm x 11.5 cm.
Each box holds around 50 large matches.
The matches are made in Sweden from aspen, and the boxes from 100% recycled card with a semi-matte finish.
